Honest Arizona Fact Sheet: GOP Tax Scam 2.0 Pushes Huge Tax Cuts for the Ultra-Wealthy and Corporations

PHOENIX — Honest Arizona today released a fact sheet on House Republicans' new tax scam to give tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy and corporations while doing next to nothing for everyday working Arizonans. Congressman David Schweikert voted for many of these tax changes as part of a reckless partisan tax bill back in 2017.

The legislation’s tax changes, which are expected to be voted on in the coming weeks, primarily benefit the ultra-rich and foreign investors, and would be extremely costly – if the changes are made permanent, they would together cost over $1 trillion.

“The facts are clear: the GOP’s tax scam offers huge tax giveaways to the wealthy and corporations while doing very little for the rest of us,” said Andrea Moreno, executive director of Honest Arizona. “Congressman Schweikert and Congressman Ciscomani need to put the interests of Arizonans first and vote against this tax bill when it comes to the floor.”
